Baking Cookies

Zoe and Grammy baking fond memories together. A tradition starting early...
It's sweet to think that years from now, when Zoe bakes cookies with her children, she'll remember how Grammy taught her how to roll the dough, cut the shapes and sprinkle with sparkly pink sugar.

Mod Stripes

These were from an attempted photo shoot. Grammy, Zoe, me & my Canon all tromped up in the hills for a springtime, two-year photo shoot.
Zoe was squirmy and didn't want to stand in the grass, or walk uphill, or face the light, or stand still or smile at Mommy. Grammy tried her best to help wrangle, but she was busy holding Julian who decided that this was as good a place as any to hold a major screamfest out under a beautiful blue sky. Two is a difficult age in terms of cooperation- at least it's a cute age as well.

Birthday at Little Farm

The Birthday twins, Zoe & Andre (Born one hour apart, on the same operating table) celebrated the big day together with friend Elizabeth at Little Farm- a real working animal farm in Berkeley's Tilden Park. The wildflowers were blooming, the sun shining, the cows were mooing and the kids all had a great time. What a wonderful way to celebrate being two!

Party Girl

Zoe awaits her birthday cake on the back steps during a small family party. Finally, a day hot enough to run around in a pretty sundress and learn about water balloons.

Getting to know you

Zoe is showing more interest in her little brother every day. She doesn't seem too bothered by any crying- in fact she runs off to bring him a binky, or his stuffed tiger, or offers him a sniff of her own soothing Mr. Bear. She watches his diaper changes with interest, pointing to his "poo-poom" (she actually points to his umbilical cord stub- that must be confusing).
She's taken a keener interest in swaddling her dolls or stuffed animals, and driving them around the house in her mini stroller. She also makes sure that every one is well burped.
As for actually touching her brother, she's not quite sure she's ready yet. But in a rare moment, she thought she would allow him to sit in her lap. When he was removed, she yelled, "more! more!"
