Zoe and I explored LA beaches on the first day of the year. We drove down to Venice, Santa Monica, Pac Pali, and discovered that the best beaches around were the onces in our own backyard. So we clicked our heels three times, and came home.
And waiting for us was a technicolor sunset, a good friend and pockets full of sand.

Beautiful! I got to share this sunset with a patient from her 6th floor window--though it would have been nicer to be on the beach with you two. Heather, this is where I love to go kayaking...
