We stopped for a romp on the beach at Refugio, just north of Santa Barbara on our trip to LA. The air was warm and balmy, the water was warm, the palm trees rustling in the pre-sunset breeze. The kids celebrated being out of the car, jumping and splashing in the water, running and screaming from the waves. Pure joy on their faces.
