Jujie had pretty nasty cold. His throat was scratchy and sore. His nose was stuffy and runny. So these few days, he spent a lot of time in hot showers. His throat was so yucky, that he stood there, crying. So daddy picked up some popsicles at the store.
And there he stood, in the shower, berry juice-sicle dripping down his chin, his hands. Really, the best place for a 3 year old boy to eat a berry popsicle.

Dracena Park
We managed another couple of dry hours today, and Zoe requested Dracena Park. It's a beautiful park in Piedmont with a cement loop trail for riding bikes, a big slide and big meadows for picnicking on sunnier days, or falling into mud puddles on wet and rainy days. Which everyone managed to do today.

Love & Haight
Zoe and her Tia Michelle walk down Cole in the Haight.
Michelle joined us for our Wednesday Whim Day this week as we danced between the raindrops, amazingly avoiding the storms and running, riding and playing our way through the dry stretches of the day.

Noah's Ark
Boys and their boats.
Julian brought his boat to push through puddles at the park today. After SO MUCH rain, we were lucky enough to get a small break in the storms, long enough for a trip to the woods. Zoe pedaled her way through the forest while Julian and I followed along, Julian stopping to test his ark in each puddle along the way. Afterward, everything fit back nicely into our own ark the new Honda Mini Van. There's enough room in there for two of everything!

Birthday Party!
We had a nice birthday for Julian today. Some friends new and old came over to celebrate with us. Julian blew out the candle on his heart brownie, and even wore the Birthday Princess Crown that his sister gave him to wear.

Julian's birthday dinner
Today, The Juje turned 3. No more Baby Man, no more Toddler. Now he blows out his own candles. And he gets to choose the restaurant- Nama is his favorite place right now, for warming Udon soup.

Head over Heels
Zoe went to her friend Breah's birthday party this weekend at a place in Emeryville called Head Over Heels. They offer lots of great gymnastics, tumbling and circus arts classes. Zoe LOVED it. The kids were so cute going through obstacle courses and jumping and tumbling.
Now, Zoe has been concerned for days that she will have to do a somersault. Okay, so we don't do a lot of tumbling on our hardwood floors at home. She was very concerned about this.
"Are we going to have to do somersaults? I don't know how to do a somersault. I won't be able to".
"Yes you can, you just don't know that you can. I know you can."
"NO, MOMMY, I can't".
"Just listen to your teacher, and trust them. They'll show you how".
Sure enough, there was Zoe and Coach Sam ("you can call me Sam I Am") going over the steps, and over she went. She was so happy. She was walking over balance beams, maneuvering on wobbly mats, jumping on trampolines, sliding through tubes.
At the end, the kids were given the opportunity to try swinging from a trapeze into a pit filled with foamy blocks. I heard this and instantly knew Zoe's tummy was turning in loops.
Zoe watched. She watched everyone try it. Twice. Three times. She hovered near by, unsure about the foam pit. Eventually she tried the pit. It wasn't so bad. Then it was last call for the trapeze before cake time. Zoe, reluctantly, decided to give it a go.
And off she went-
We'll be signing up for classes next session.

A Two-Tiger Morning
Sometimes it's hard to wake up in the morning... on the right side of the bed. That's when you need not just one, but two tigers to help you up.
