Head over Heels

Zoe went to her friend Breah's birthday party this weekend at a place in Emeryville called Head Over Heels. They offer lots of great gymnastics, tumbling and circus arts classes. Zoe LOVED it. The kids were so cute going through obstacle courses and jumping and tumbling.
Now, Zoe has been concerned for days that she will have to do a somersault. Okay, so we don't do a lot of tumbling on our hardwood floors at home. She was very concerned about this.
"Are we going to have to do somersaults? I don't know how to do a somersault. I won't be able to".
"Yes you can, you just don't know that you can. I know you can."
"NO, MOMMY, I can't".
"Just listen to your teacher, and trust them. They'll show you how".
Sure enough, there was Zoe and Coach Sam ("you can call me Sam I Am") going over the steps, and over she went. She was so happy. She was walking over balance beams, maneuvering on wobbly mats, jumping on trampolines, sliding through tubes.
At the end, the kids were given the opportunity to try swinging from a trapeze into a pit filled with foamy blocks. I heard this and instantly knew Zoe's tummy was turning in loops.
Zoe watched. She watched everyone try it. Twice. Three times. She hovered near by, unsure about the foam pit. Eventually she tried the pit. It wasn't so bad. Then it was last call for the trapeze before cake time. Zoe, reluctantly, decided to give it a go.
And off she went-
We'll be signing up for classes next session.

This looks like it would be SO right up Zoe's alley.

She's learning to go for it, even when she's afraid.

Good stuff, Zoe!
