These kids.
They are living the good life.
It doesn't matter if they recognize it or not, not now. But I feel so good every time
I sock away an afternoon like this in their memory banks.
It's been a long, cold winter (I know, I know, Eastoners, but we suffer in January) and we haven't been able to take our afternoon romps in the woods the way we like to. The kids are so over scheduled this year, and it gets dark early, and with the wet and cold, we just haven't had the time. But today, it was in the low 80's. And the light is sticking around so much longer. The Acacias are blooming, and the pink plums are just starting to flower. The light is changing, and it is beautiful. I feel spring around the corner. So we took our best friend up to the forest and the kids barely knew I was there except when I asked them to stop their scenario long enough for me take a couple of photos, because THIS is how I want them to remember their childhood.
